Human Hands, Machine Minds: Art, Authorship and Autonomy in the Age of LLMs
Creativity, intellectual autonomy and the future of human-made art.
As generative AI enters writing, publishing, filmmaking, visual art and other creative fields, questions of originality, consent and ownership have become impossible to ignore. Who owns work used to train machines? What does authorship mean when human and machine-generated material begin to blur? How should artists respond to the unauthorised extraction of creative labour? And what happens to the value of human imagination when machines can reproduce its appearance at extraordinary speed? Using recent controversies in literature and the creative industries as points of departure, this conversation brings writers, artists and cultural thinkers together to examine creativity, intellectual autonomy and the future of human-made art.
