This practical session explores the foundations of writing for the stage: character, conflict, dialogue, structure, dramatic tension and the relationship between the written word and live performance. Participants will examine how playwrights move from an initial impulse to a story that can live before an audience, with exercises, discussion and close engagement with the craft. Suitable for emerging and practising writers, theatre-makers and storytellers.
